Christmas Wrapped Up

The Christmas holidays are past, I went back to work yesterday but since it was just for one day it still seems like I am on holiday.

Christmas was spent at my parents with some side trips to see friends in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Here's my parents lounge set up for Christmas dinner.

Here's the pear and chocolate crumble tart I made for dessert - delicious. A crumble base tart spread with dark chocolate covered in pears and a topping of cream and egg yolk.

New Year was spent with friends in Edinburgh - a meal out, the fireworks over the castle and a raucous bus journey home courtesy of Singing Sarah who kept the top floor of the double-decker amused as we made our way along London Road.

New Year's Day the sun shone (for the first time in about 10 days - Christmas was particularly wet this year) so we went for a walk along the esplanade in Portobello (with half of Edinburgh it would seem - there you could see every breed of dog imaginable and a wide variety of 2, 3 and 4-wheeled transport options). Oh and some mad people taking a dip....
