Corner View 2 - From your Back Door/Window
Jane's weekly Corner View project is the view from your back door or window this week. I was away for the weekend so have 2 views to post (luckily, since the view from my back window is not the most inspiring. The view from my front window is a completely different matter though!). So first, the pictures from my back window (I live on the second floor)....
I live in a tenement flat, with a shared back garden, which is kept neat and tidy (unlike my neighbours). From my kitchen window I have a view over the back gardens of lots of tenements and sometimes I get to see their washing too!
However, I went to Pittenweem for a long weekend with my parents. It's only about 20 miles away from Dundee, but a whole other world. The East Neuk of Fife is one of the most picturesque places in Scotland, rolling green countryside surrounded by the sea, small fishing villages such as Pittenweem, Anstruther, Cellardyke and Crail to be wandered. More of the trip in a later post, now back to the view from the back door.......
My cousin's house in Pittenweem, where we were staying, is right on the sea and I mean right on the sea. When the tide is in, the sea strikes against the side wall and when the tide goes out there are rocks and rock pools to be explored....
This is a view of the side of the house, a pink house with the sea at it's door.
Every morning and evening when the tide was out, we would go wander the rock pools looking to see what we could find, shrimp, shore crabs, hermit crabs, sea anenomes etc. We could watch the fishing boats as they passed, going out to check their lobster pots and catch prawns and see the Isle of May glistening in the distance....a perfect place to spend a weekend, particularly when the sun is shining.
Check out all the other back door views over at Jane's Blog, Spain Daily.

what a lovely place pittenweem is !!
i do like the view over the back gardens too !!
I love your pics, gorgeous. I lived in Scotland some years ago...Ayrshire coast, overlooking the Isle of Arran. So your photos brought back memories of beautiful Scotland!
Wonderful photos. Those houses look Dutch. I guess that was the cultural influence of the Reformation and Presbyterianism.
I loev that house on the sea! I think I would like to live that close to the ocean.
Oh. Very Big Sigh. It's just beautiful! It's so amazing that the pink house is right on the sea like that. Does she have to worry about it flooding when there's a big storm or anything? I remember finding starfish in tidepools in Oregon -- do you have starfish in Scotland?
You're so lucky -- I'm just imagining the beautiful summer you're going to have! Thank you SOOO much for sharing your pictures -- you know I LOVE them!!!
I'd like to live so close to the sea. Your own back view is nice and green.
from your descriptions i feel like i´m there. sounds wonderful. how different our views are.:) have a great day!
That is a fantastic pink house with fantastic view! My scottish family have also their house literally "in the sea". I think it must be a scottish thing :)
that is stunning!!!
A wonderful view. I love them both!!
Your pictures are very interesting. I love having my vision expanded of all the different places people live.
I rather like your backdoor view, it´s so lively. And isn´t it nice to see what kind of bedsheets your neighbors have? Yup...I´m that kind of girl. ;)
But I love the pictures of East Neuk of Fife! Would love to visit it sometime.
The view of the side of the house is really beautiful ! ffff, i'm smelling the sea ; )
The pink house by the ocean is amazing of course. The sea against the side walls seems both beautiful and frightening to me. But I also love your own view. The laundry and the colors. Your photos are great.
Wow what a fantastic place to live! I love all of your pictures!
i love these pictures - especially of someone holding the crab! i think i could be right at home there!
I love the shot of the tenement flats but the crab is great too. Thanks for sharing.
