Knitting

I made a hat for my friend's little girl. The pattern by Two and Six for a Beehive Beanie was based on Saartje's Knits adult pattern. Fun to knit and it looks like it will fit for a while! I bought the wool whilst on holiday in the Lake District and I am afraid I can't remember what it is - but I'll definitely get 2 hats out of one 100g ball.

Not really the time to be giving woollie hats, the start of summer, but we are talking Scottish summer here....so when I gave the hat to its little recipient on Sunday it was perfect weather for wearing it to a BBQ.  And she looked like a little gnome - with her red hat and her little strawberry covered face!

The thought of wearing a woolie hat at the moment is incomprehensible to me but it's a very cute hat all the same!

It's better to be prepared before the hat-wearing-weather really sets in again ;)

It's a beautiful hat, you've made!

Fantastic! It looks like a snail shell!
I dread to think what Scottish summer is like. Northumberland summer is bad enough! It's all very well living near beautiful beaches, but there's never any sun to lie in...and when there is, it warms up the sea and turns everything misty. Typical :-)

That is one cute hat- love the colour! And it's never too early to start getting ready for the chillier weather...(or is that just an excuse to buy some wool!)
