The Smile Train

I was at a Makers Market yesterday with 3 friends - we shared a stall which was a lot of fun, we met lots of great people and were inspired by everyone around us.

I raffled one of my baby blankies to raise money for charity. Having been unable to participate in the latest Craft Hope project I decided that I could still use my crafting talents to raise some money for a good cause. I chose the charity Smile Train, who are an organisation that provide cleft lip and palate surgery to children in the developing world and I raised £40/$70 through my raffle....enough to cover the costs of the drugs required for one surgery......

Good for you! My aunt and I were just discussing our charities of choice this past weekend - she's donating to Smile Train, and we're sticking with Heifer and Water for People, two organizations that my husband and I like.
