Craft Hope Dollies!

I am making a dollie for the second Craft Hope Project. Lots of dolls are being made at the moment all around the world, to be sent to an orphanage in Nicaragua. Eren from Vintage Chica will be delivering the dolls this summer.

I used the Black Apple Doll pattern that's available free on the Martha Stewart Website. It's the first time I have ever made a doll and as I don't have a sewing machine I have hand stitched her. The pattern was very simple to follow (there are even a few tutorials on the website), I  just hope that my hand stitching can withstand a little love!!

So far she's naked........clothes are being made however so hopefully she won't remain naked for long. I made her from some felt. I am not very good with real fabric, when you have to make hems and prevent fraying....so felt it is!

There's a Flickr site you can check out where other dolls are beginning to appear! Vagabundus has already made 2 - a boy and a girl! I've seen the boy in real life and it is very cute!

Wow -- you stitched her by hand -- that's so cool. She's very cute in all her nakedness!
