The Dolly got Clothes
Don't worry, she wasn't bare for long! I've made her some clothes.......cut freehand from felt, guessing what might work and to be honest I am quite happy with the way they turned out! Oh and she got a bow on her head because I wasn't very good at sewing up the stuffing hole!
During the construction process and seeking inspiration, I came across a number of Flickr sites and blogs where there are some amazing hand crafted dolls... check out the Handmade Original Dolls Group, the Handmade One-of-a-Kind Cloth Dolls, Mimi Kirchner's blog simply entitled Doll and my personal favourite Matilde Belrorega...... there are some wonderfully talented ladies out there....oh and since the film is due out here this weekend try a little Coraline crafting over at Nani Kora and the associated swaps Flickr Site - Coraline Box Swap.

Very clever Di! I love the ribbon/bow touch and your pretty color selection!
She is so sweet! I made my first doll last night and kept thinking to myself.. how did Di manage to do this by hand. Amazing. Good stuff! :)

She has the look of a lovely latin little girl - she will feel at home in the sunshine!

She is PERFECT Di!!! I STILL have to see the movie though... I totally missed it and i'm upset about that! Well, HATCH says that a doll like this would fit in very nicely with the other charming friends there! ;)
She's so cute!!!! I still have (and still love) my rag doll so I am in no doubt that this will go down very well on the project - which seems like a lovely idea, by the way.
Your dolls are cutes!
