Woollie Interlude

I realise that this blog is meant to be a little about crafting and a little about travelling, but the travelling seems to have taken over recently....so I thought perhaps a little woollie interlude was called for between tales of Italian wanderings.

I haven't been quite as crafty of late as usual but I have still managed to make a couple of things - first a woollie wolf, inspired by my childhood copy of Peter and the Wolf and Herzenart's blog (hope she doesn't mind) - now I just need to make Peter! He is made of lopi, knitted into a square, washed and then a template created to cut round. 2 pieces sewn together, tail. nose and teeth added! He's about 20 cm long, his nose started life as the black centre of a knitted poppy that I was to felt in the washing machine to make a brooch - that turned into a disaster but I managed to at least use the black bit for something!

I am not sure who I am making him for, probably me, I just wanted to see how he would turn out! I must admit I am quite pleased!

I also made another little blankie whilst I was away in Italy - this time it is for my friend Allyson's baby. I thought I'd show you the front and the back this time!

Your wolf is super fun! Just scary enough :) I don't mind the travel posts at all. It's very nice to see all those places. What is going to be your next destination?

I love the wolf! He and Peter would make good finger puppets for little people and I can't believe how neat the back of the blanket is :O

Milan looks great. I can completely understand the market and supermarket fascination- I spent this afternoon eyeing up cheese in the street. I may have to have a trip to Italy to try the panzerotti. Mmm.

p.s. YEY! PARCEL! Thank you very much :) I'll get the parents to forward it!
