WOOLLIE - MORE CREATIONS

It's been a busy old week! I have been working and seeing friends and in between trying to finish some homemade Christmas gifts.

Ages ago I signed up for the Pay if Forward project that is doing the rounds in Blogland - of course I can't remember whose blog I signed up on, but as with the rules of the project I then announced that I would Pay it Forward to the first 3 people to leave a comment on my post - so Eva, Life in Yonder and Stephanie are all awaiting some handmade goodness from me! Well, the first gift is on it's way! Eva and Stephanie your gift will be on it's way soon!

I have also been knitting a baby hat - it's the Candy Cane pattern from Handknit for the Holidays (one of the few nice patterns in a book full of bizarre patterns). In order to ensure that it really is candy cane like I knitted it in red and white!

Last night I was at my parents after a day's holiday which saw us visiting Ikea and doing a little Christmas shopping before I helped my mum to put up the Christmas tree! I sat down with some yarn and a pattern that my mum had given me from her trip to the US - Crystal Palace Cotton Chenille and a pattern for a flower facecloth. It comes from Melanie Falick's Weekend Knits and it really did knit up quickly.

WANDERINGS - GLASGOW

On Thursday I was in Glasgow for a meeting for work and had dinner with a friend afterwards in Cafe Gandolfi in the old cheesemarket in the Merchant City- a lovely dish of spicy green lentils with cashew nuts, pitta bread, hummus and salad. I must try to make that at home again! I also had a chance to see some of the Christmas decorations in Glasgow - a sphere like Christmas tree in Princes Square and the reindeer and sleigh in George Square - home of Glasgow's Winter Fest.
