WANDERINGS

Tonight I forced myself to go for a run. I don't like running from the house because it's in the City Centre and therefore the roads are busy and there isn't really anywhere nice to run. Tonight the weather was gorgeous so I jumped in the car and drove the 10 minutes to Broughty Ferry so I could go for a run along the beach. The river was so calm on the way along the road, the yachts almost looked like they were sitting on a mirror.

I did my run - it's a loop along the back of the beach and then along the main road - on my return to the beach road I got an amazing reward for my efforts - I spotted a pod of 5 or 6 dolphins playing in the sea just off the beach. I knew that there were dolphins in the Tay but I have never seen them myself - it was a beautiful sight - I sat on the beach, the sky turning various shades of grey, through pink and purple as dusk fell, taking over an hour for darkness to fall this time of year the sky is often beautiful in Scotland - a pod of dolphins playfully jumping from the water, tossing fish into the air and coming very close to the shore - it was a beautiful sight. Check this website for some more photos of the River Tay's bottlenose dolphins.

!! how amazing! that is quite the reward for taking a jog. i remember canoing off the southern Florida coast (all protected beach/waters, no developments) and a group of dolphins travelled with us for a day. they're such lovely creatures.

When we lived in Florida I would see the dolphins playing at least once a week.

I really miss that.

much better than my exercising adventures of last week ended up being (getting caught in the rain and my son injuring himself)...I bet it was a delight to see the dolphins.

you can just watch dolphins for hours - I think I wouldn't mind being one in a future life.

Thanks for the bag love over at my site too.
