WOOLLIE

I got distracted - AGAIN!! I was happily knitting away on my unicorn when I was distracted by the pirate.......all my plans, finish the unicorn, finish the pirate doll, were all disrputed when I got a look at The Knitter's Stash and saw the pattern for the magic teddy bear.....my good intentions went to pot!! I started something else....I can't help myself!! I have a problem - I keep starting things.........

But I was so impressed by the idea of knitting a teddy bear all in one piece and I had the perfect yarn - it cost me 20p at a wool sale - it seemed impertinent not to knit a little piece of woollie goodness. The process of knitting one then slipping one every row to create both sides of the bear at once was really like magic. Only one small hitch - once finished I discovered that I had obviously slipped one stich instead of knitting it and hey ho he wouldn't quite come apart.....I eventually decided I had to snip the stitch (it was almost like cutting an umbilical cord) and then do my best to patch him together - now he has the cutest little belly button.

Teddy Bear - stuffing required
Pirate Doll - jumper, trousers and hat knitted
Unicorn - head, body and 2 front legs finished

More Wanderings tomorrow and Woollie SP Swap to follow.....

that's really made me laugh - a Magic teddy with a belly button and only 20p!! (I must have the pattern!) See you back at knitting this week, I'm feeling that after 2 weeks I should have got more done on the Phildar cardigan but I got distracted too by the flowers!

That bear is just too cute, the belly button is great! I can relate to much to starting a zillion projects and having a hard time finishing them all- my WIP basket is filling up. I still can't wait to see that pirate! (and i'd love that pattern too if you would share it.)

I have the same problem with starting multiple projects...but with quilts. Love the little bear with the belly button.

He's lovely. Fairing better than my recent bear-tastrophe!
