Woollie

I am enjoying knitting my Gathering Stripes jumper - it's a great pattern. Who wouldn't be a fan of a jumper that doesn't require to be sewn together (sewing together being my nemesis). The Shilasdair yarn is beautiful to knit with - spun by Gardiners of Selkirk and hand-dyed in the Isle of Skye.

As it is called Gathering Stripes I decided to make a slight modification to the pattern and instead of having the stripes spaced equally apart I am making them closer together as I move down the jumper  - the stripes are gathering together....

We shall see how long it takes me to finish, considering I bought the yarn to knit 2 pairs of mittens last week as well.

I love it! Please show the finished sweater-- the way you're doing the stripes reminds me of design classes!

I love your take on gathering stripes! And it cracks me up that you soon will have to bind off all those stripes.... or are you far more clever than I am and sewing them in as you go along?
