Colour Week - Red

Day 2 of Francesca's colour week and it's red! The colour red....it means so many things, from danger, to Japan or China where it can mean luck and wealth and is often used in temples.

Senso Ji, Toyko, Japan

It can add brightness to the most northerly of weather - here at the Pier Arts Centre in Stromness, Orkney - home to a collection of art, including artists from the St Ives school in Cornwall, completely the opposite end of the country - or the most southerly of grey weather - here at the National Theatre in London....

It can be great fun when crafting..

It can mean remembrance.......

Or great cake..... or Leffe Rouge beer, best savoured in Belgium or Northern France....
