Mid January and I haven't posted about the things I made for Christmas this year - numerous decorations and a few gifts:
The start of a series of Russian domes.
The Christmas Panda
How to make a Christmas Panda
The Christmas Elephant
The Christmas Black Bear
The Christmas animals are based on a pattern from a Japanese craft magazine (Embroidery Idees Volume 6 and involved felted pre-felt, some embroidery and some needle felting - I so enjoyed making them and most of my friends loved them - laughed at having someone so grumpy on their tree - I mean how many pandas/bears really want to wear a Santa hat all year round.....
For Christmas dinner I made a 3-d cookie Christmas tree, using 10 different sized cookie cutters that I bought from Cox & Cox. It looks great and was suprisingly quick to make - and tasted fantastic too!
I also used some lopi to knit giant bag which I felted in the washing machine and then appliqued for a friend. I was really pleased with the outcome.

How cool! I love the panda and elephant, and that bag is wonderful.
Oh My Di! What beautiful goodies -- I LOVE the cute little ornaments! And that tree is so pretty -- it DOES look delicious. We have a hard time getting the little silver dragees over here now -- they've taken them off of the market for some bizarre health related reason -- something like if you ate your weight in them they would be bad for you -- very annoying!
Your lopi bag looks really neat!
wow! pretty impressive cookie tree!
I LOVE your cookie tree! It's going to go right into my memory archives, filed under Christmas ... and I so hope to remember about it next year.
Nice blog. I am impressed by your artistic skills. Everything looks so perfect on your blog. The Christmas Black Bear is amazing.
I love seeing everything you make! I told Caroline about your pandas and I was just considering knitting a bag very similar to yours! And the cookie tree just makes me hungry!! ;)
