Woollie Weekend
It was another glorious autumn day on Saturday.....happily spent with the National Trust picking apples in the orchard at Falkland Palace. It will after all be National Apple Day here in the UK on the 21st of October. We picked apples for juicing, apples for toffee apples and apples just for eating. It meant climbing trees, climbing ladders, filling buckets and filling boxes - a lot of fun was had!
We did get to bring some apples home so I am looking forward to apple pie, apple crumble or apple strudel, mixed with blackberries or blueberries - what do you think would be best?
It seems that apples are flavour of the month, an article in the Telegraph food section on Saturday discussed a farm in dorset making artisan apple juice and cider..local suppliers supplying local cider lovers.......read it here.....
Oh and just for fun, a gratuitous sunrise shot from my living room window on Saturday morning.....
