Elsie Marley Mobile Swap 2009

After seeing all the amazing mobiles in last year's Mobile Swap (see Flickr group) organised by Elsie Marley I decided to keep my eyes open for this years swap and signed up in late January. My partner assigned in early February, I formulated my plan of action in my mind and there it stayed until the 1st of March (the day after the mobile was meant to be sent)!! So last Sunday I decided I better put my plan into action.....

I started with some felt, yes I cut into more of the glorious wool felt that Beth sent me.... and made the main pieces of the mobile (now this is not a mobile in the strictest sense of the word but does hang from the ceiling or on the wall).

Then I moved onto the embroidery stage before making the little creatures that inhabit my tree.

Then all I had to do was sew it all together and add a little stuffing! I hope that my swap partner likes it and I hope to get to the post office tomorrow!

Here's the link to this year's Flickr group - some amazing mobiles there already!
