A long time ago I signed up for the 198 Peace Project - to create out of textiles all of the flags of the world as part of an end of year project for an artist from Ohio. People all over the world have crafted flags to be sewn together into one enormous wall hanging.....my flag, Somalia, my progress slow.....
Last year I knitted and felted a large sheet of lopi and then I cut it to make my flag, and cut it too small so I ended up making the flag from some beautiful wool fabric that I got in Paris. I cut out a star shaped hole and replaced it with white felt. Not nearly as creative as some of the flags over on Flickr. I look forward to hearing how the show went!
