I picked berries this weekend - firstly raspberries over at Cairnie Fruit Farm. They were fantastic this year, rows and rows of juicy red berries and secondly I picked wild blaeberries whilst descending Ben Ledi.... blaeberry is the Scottish word for bilberry....low growing bushes with blueberry type fruit...and at this time of the year they are abundant in the mountains.
Ben Ledi was a great hike - 2884 ft, 879m - climbing from 124m at the car park below, through the heather, beginning to glow purple, and across the bogs, the howling gale....watching the rain in the distance and looking over Loch Achray, Loch Katrine, Goat Fell.............. we were lucky with the weather and with dinner afterwards in a small local pub called The Lion and the Unicorn.

That sounds like such a lovely day! I wished I could take walks in such beautiful surroundings and then have dinner in a pub...
How lucky you are to live in such a beautiful part of the world.
To finish up the day with dinner in a pub, there is nothing better.
