Woollie Activities
It's been a fun few days. My parents were visiting, we went to Aberdeen for a little shopping and some lunch. Then we stopped in Stonehaven on the way home, it was certainly "roamin in the gloamin" - the sea haar was so thick, but the boats in the little harbour were still worth a visit.
We were talking about the time my parents went on holiday to Stonehaven, with my grandparents, aunts and uncles and then about other holidays my parents took - they were quite adventurous - trips to hike across Norway in the 1960s, honeymooning in Oslo, camping on the island of Bornholm which is part of Denmark. We also chatted about our family summer holidays when I was a child, reminiscing about my dad building us cars and boats out of sand every day on the beach in St Andrews which we could play in and also him allowing us to try burying him!! I don't know if we were ever very successful! When I got home I found an old photo of me on the beach - aged 2!
I also got a little time for some crafting - I finished the little cardigan to match the little hat - I was quite proud of myself - I managed to pick up all the stitches for the neckband myself (after Laurence had done it for me and then I did it again myself) and sew it together (never my strongest suit). It's from Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino 2, one of my favourite books and the yarn is so soft!! I was making them for a colleague at work and she was leaving today to go on maternity leave so I was on a mission last night to finish it.
I also started another little baby blankie! This one has a washing line theme....
