Woollie Spring

Apart from the snow showers we have been having since yesterday and the bitingly cold wind howling you could be mistaken for thinking spring had arrived...... daffodils are blooming, carpets of crocus  are appearing around the city, the sun has been shining between showers and the days are definitely getting longer. Here's a few shots from the last few days with a slight spring feel to them!
I had a busy week at work - not sure if you could ever say that someone coming to audit two European funded projects is fun but at least it kept me out of mischief!! I even managed to take yesterday afternoon off to spend time with friends visiting for the weekend. Lots of plans for this weekend involving good company and food!

After seeing Monkee Maker's crazy post about her new pigeon friend Greg, I started to feel sorry for Pigeon Poop - he never gets to go on any adventures so I took him out....I am not sure I'll be taking him out again - he lived up to his name all over the bonnet of my car......

On the creation front, people have been asking me recently if I only ever knit animals as my latest finish is a kiwi, from a free pattern over at Bittersweet's blog (found courtesy of Ravelry - that oh so dangerous place, so time consuming that at knitting group on Thursday night we decided it might be important to found a local branch of Ravelry Anonymous!)

The kiwi (which is a North Island Brown Kiwi) was found hiding in my only plant this week! Part of the pattern involved short rows and wrapping yarn - I am not really sure that I mastered that, but something I did master this week was knitting backwards and forwards on circular needles - previously I have always ended up frustrated by the fact that I seem to keep knitting tubes!

Ah Ah! cheeky Poop. You should bring him around to see his brother Leon!
I was thinking taking pictures of the daffodils this afternoon as I was walking along Dudhope park but I didn't have my camera with me. Might go again tomorrow.
Enjoy your weekend.

The kiwi is cool :D and Poop seems to be doing some sort of egyptian dance on your bonnet. Maybe you should knit him some sort of pigeon nappy so he can come on more adventures without getting himself into trouble? Hope you have a great easter x
