WANDERINGS - TENTSMUIR

Last Sunday the sun came out at last - it had been a really miserable and grey week, getting dark about 330pm. But Sunday dawned bright and beautiful and Louise, Jane, Andrea and I headed off to Tentsmuir for a walk, regular readers will know that it is one of my favourite places!

This time we started in Tayport and walked through the forest, along the foreshore towards the main beach. The fact that the beach is so close to the forest is part of Tentsmuir's charm - 2 seemingly different ecosystems within touching distance - to the coast, seals, dolphins and a host of sea birds, to the forest, deer, woodpeckers and ferns.

The beach is home to over both grey and common seals and we were determined to see a seal, although we were distracted by birds and wooden posts we didn't see any seals in the water, perhaps the tide was too high, but then as we were walking along we nearly fell over a small seal lying on the beach - we weren't sure where it's mum was, hopefully it hadn't been abandoned.

Awwww, love the seal :) Tentsmuir looks absolutely beautiful. In my (admittedly quite biased) opinion you can't beat Northumbrian and Scottish coast and countryside. Lovely shaped trees, too.

Looks like you had the most wonderful day! The photos are beautiful.

On another note: Thank you so much for the "Pay it forward" gift. It is so cute and I LOVE the red and grey you have chosen! Love it!
