WOOLLIE CHRISTMAS

I hope everyone had a great Christmas! I have had fun - quiet days with family, time spent with friends and tonight I am off to Bristol for 4 nights for New Year with more friends - 14 of us altogether! I hope Bay Tree Cottage knows what is coming! The village hall in Weston-in-Gordano has been booked and the party commences at 8pm on the 31st!

When watching BBC Breakfast News before Christmas I saw Carol, the weather person, in a giant snow globe outside the Natural History Museum in London. I wish I had known it was there when I was visiting because I can think of nothing more fun than being inside your own giant snow globe!!

I went to Edinburgh with my parents for a day this week, we went to the National Gallery for Scotland to see the Joan Eardley exhibit. She was a Scottish based artist famous for painting landscapes and slum children in Glasgow post world war 2. She died tragically early at the age of 42. It would have been amazing to see how her work developed if she had lived.

We also walked along Princes Street taking in the festive buzz - New Year in Edinburgh is a big thing, with live bands, ice rinks, ferris wheels, torchlight processions, fireworks and a massive street party! But of course, we must give New Year's Eve it's correct title in Scotland - Hogmanay!

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ONE AND ALL!!

ENJOY HOGMANAY!!

Looks like you had a wonderful holiday! I, too, would have loved the opportunity to be in a life size snow globe.

Beautiful pictures! Have fun on your trip for New Years!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR/HOGMANAY TO YOU, TOO!
Hope you have a great time in Bristol - make sure you squeeze in a trip to Get Knitted (i.e. knitters' paradise)before you leave :D
The exhibition at Edinburgh looks well worth a visit. It's a shame I didn't have time to visit the city when I flew into the airport last week. Fingers crossed it'll still be on in Feb!
