WOOLLIE ACQUISITIONS

I have acquired a few goodies in recent weeks! Some in Colorado and some here at home! In Colorado I bought some fabric (I really must learn how to sew! I borrowed my mum's sewing machine at the weekend so will have a chance to practice). I bought the washing line fabric to make washing bags or clothes peg bags, the other fabric is flannel to make reception blankets for my friends baby to be!

On arriving home I went to knitting group in Newburgh and Laura showed me this newly published book which I just had to have! Felted Friends is full of inspiring wet felt and needle felted projects ot make the cutest little animals. My favourite has to be the porcupine with it's multi-coloured spines! I will have to try to make it!

Finally, when I was in Colorado my mum and dad were visiting my aunt and uncle in New Hampshire and my mum returned with some lovely cotton chenille for me to make flower face cloths from the book Weekend Knits by Melanie Fallick! My mum chose the most beautiful colours - a teal skein and a yellow skein!

As you can see I have a lot of projects to work my way through!!

Ooh, I've got the cute washing line fabric, too! Can't wait to see your first sewing project! In fact, you've just shown us a heap of potential projects there. My next craft to try is the felting, so I'm going to check out the book you just got.

Sounds like you're going to be very busy! I have the weekend knitting book but I don't think I've tried anything from it yet. I think that felting book looks incredibly cute-- my kids would be all over that! Love the porcupine too!

I LOVE that fabric! Do you know what range/maker it's from? Hope you enjoy your sewing! Lucy x

Okay, so I have a knitting question for you. I'm wanting to learn. I can knit and purl and that's about it. Should I take a beginners course or take a knitting in the round course? Would that be too advanced for me? What do you think???

I started a book club last night with some friends. Now I need a knitting club. Hmmm... Must learn to knit first.

I have the washing line fabric to and I am glad to hear of the idea for washing bags- I love the fabric, but I never know quite what to use it for. That book looks terrific!
