WANDERINGS AND A LITTLE BIT OF WOOLLIE

I went to the Lake District on a girls weekend - 12 girls, one house = an awful lot of chatter!

The Lake District is a beautiful place and we converged from all corners of the UK (and Switzerland) for 2-3 nights of fun. What you ask did that fun include:

Knitting (please forgive the blurry photos) - everyone, the non-knitters included, had to knit a square for a baby blanket - some people would appear to be closet knitters - who enjoyed it much more than they initially were willing to let on....

Eating - lots of food consumed and no no no that watermelon was absolutely not laced with vodka!!

Walking in the beautiful surroundings of Derwent Water.

All in all a great weekend was had by all! Can't wait for the next one!

me too, I can't wait for the next one! it got me all inspired about knitting again and even went to check in bon marche yesterday (was still up for a bit of shopping after the interview-which went well) for the rowan romance but they didnt have it :-( might have to go to geneva in stead, I think there's a shop that sells rowan.

such beautiful photos, Di!

did you read the Arthur Ransome stories when you were a child? I love those books- set in the Lakes district.

I've never seen these red and white spotty mushrooms out on open grass like yours before. At my house they are always in darker area's of woodland neseled amongst the woodland floor. Your photo of them is superb. Glad you had a wonderful trip ~ love Julia x

Looks like you had a great time! I think everyone could be a closet-crafter if they were given the opportunity and encouragement! Thanks for the comment on my blog. Lucy x

Looks like you had a wonderful time with craft-friends (and closet knitters; what a funny expression).

I had to come back to comment on the sheep picture.

your photos are fanastic- always great, and so many are exceptional. but I really am amazed at the composition on that one of the sheep; how you caught the sheep/background in proportion and the color sync.

I'd like to have a collection of your photos.

Wow! The mushroom pic is just fantastic. They almost look unreal, like styling props. They're amazing!

Love you're weekend getaway. I've noticed something about knitting. It's very relaxing I think. I've seen many vacationers love knitting.
