WOOLLIE
After wandeirng to St Andrews on Saturday, Sunday was to be a quiet day, time for self-reflection, self-indulgence and knitting! It didn't end up quite as quiet as expected - invitations from friends led to quite a lot of activity. Andrea discovered that there was a wool sale in St Andrews (and it had been in Dundee on Saturday and we missed it!) so we headed over. I managed to purchase 19 balls of wool for £9.70 - some for specific purposes - like teddy bears or knitted horses but others for the stash, ready to turn into toys or dolls clothes. My only concern being where is it going to be stored - my ever growing stash is threatening to take over my house - 2 boxes in the bedroom, 2 boxes in the living room and a pile behind the sofa...now bearing in mind I only have a one bedroom flat I may soon have to move out to make room for wool. Anyone any bright ideas?

The Denim Baby Trousers

I finally managed to get the baby trousers to shrink - and shrink they did....see the photo below:

From 18 inches to 8 inches - OK they didn't really shrink that much - these are the trousers for the pirate doll that I am knitting from the new book I bought last week! Once again the desire to start new things has overtaken me and I managed to start not only the unicorn last week but also the clothes for the pirate doll! I think I need help!!

The real baby jeans only shrunk to 15.5 inches just as the pattern said they would. Now all I have to do is insert the elastic and they are finished!! Please excuse the photo - both the legs are actually the same length but in my haste to photograph the trousers I failed to notice that I had laid them out all higgelty-piggelty!

Its like crafting diarrhoea....once you're in the grip, you have to keep going until it wears you out. Can't wait to see your next woollie adventure!

Cute trousers! Maybe store it under the bed, stack the boxes up and put a nice curtain in front of it, randomly in bowls - like fruit. We have the same problem - my children are being slowly squeezed out of their room.

Wow! That sounds like quite a sale! As for your stash, Ikea has these nearly flat shoe containers that I'm sure you could stuff with yarn.

Thanks for checking out my blog!

I love the little pants- I am looking forward to meeting the pirate they belong to. No good advice on the yarn stash, I am just beginning to have this problem too and have no solution, though the ikea boxes sound good...

Can't wait to see the pirate in his new duds. I'm no help with the stash either, as ours is hidden all over the place too.

Thanks for dropping by and leaving some lovely comments too.
